Aluminum Bronze Bushings and Bearing Parts

As an AS9100 approved facility, Albaksan produces aluminum bronze bushings, bearings and related structural parts for aerospace and marine use. Alloys for landing gears, aircraft bushes/bearings, rocket nozzle copper bodies, diesel pump bodies, flanges and cutless bearings are delivered forged, cast and CNC-machined to customer specifications.

Cardan shaft blanks are listed in the automotive product group. They are hot steel forged on seven hammer lines (20–110 kJ) and seven press lines (250–2500 t). Near-net forging aims to reduce machining allowance.

Akmetal produces open-die steel forgings for unique shapes in special materials with a 1,000-tonne forging press and a 6-tonne manipulator. Open-die forging capacity is up to 7 tonnes. Work runs at the Tuzla Tepeören plant together with steel foundry metallurgy since 1963.

Serpa manufactures investment-cast parts in stainless steel. The 2004 vacuum induction furnace investment enabled vacuum investment casting. Moulding, casting and machining are carried out at the 4,000 m² Tuzla Leather OIZ plant (2,400 m² indoor).

Steel wire drawn at Boyçelik’s Wire-Spring plant from 1.20 mm to 5.00 mm is supplied to mattress, furniture, textile, automotive and industrial spring makers. Coil weights at dispatch range from 100 kg to 900 kg, with production in the quality bands requested by the customer. Coils ship on cardboard cores, strapped and packed against rust and impact.

Standard pocket spring unit

Pocket springs, each sleeved in its own nonwoven, act independently for sleep and seating comfort. Coils can be barrel, cylindrical or other shapes, and different wire diameters can be zoned in one unit. Boyçelik pocket units offer about twice the spring count and three times the compression resistance of other spring systems, with independent motion that isolates partner movement.

CNC Machining

Albaksan delivers finished or assembled copper-bronze parts to customer drawings on CNC horizontal/vertical lathes and 5-axis milling machines. UT, mechanical, microstructure and dye-penetration tests are performed in house; EN 10204 3.1/3.2 and GL certification are available on request, with stock and logistics for urgent delivery.

Open and Closed Die Forging

Group plants offer open-die forging, closed-die forging, extrusion press and ring rolling. Forged rings reach Dia. 1000 mm, full discs Dia. 900 mm, bars Dia. 350 mm, squares 350×350 mm and rectangulars 100×500 mm. With quenching and aging furnaces, mechanical properties are set to customer requirements.

CNC and Workshop Machining

All rolling mill rolls manufactured by the plant are machined in-house on the workshop machines according to the specified technical drawings. Equipment includes conventional lathe, CNC lathe, CNC double columns, vertical lathe, 150-ton press, radial drill, shaper, vertical mill, vertical band saw, universal mill, CNC boring mill and universal boring mill. Machining is applied after casting and heat treatment to bring roll geometry to the customer drawing.

Vacuum Investment Casting

Serpa’s 2004 vacuum induction furnace investment was a major step for vacuum investment casting in Turkey. Vacuum casting is used for nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys and for steel and stainless parts that require that process. Work is run under ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems.

Precision Grinding

Grinding removes stock with an abrasive and is used from defence to medical work; it is the last manufacturing step. A rotating disc or cylindrical wheel brings the semi-finished part to final size. At Puntaş grinding is used to raise surface quality, take tight-tolerance stock from hardened surfaces, correct heat-treatment distortion on cylindrical parts and polish faces.

Precision machining has been HMS’s core service since 1979. Complex parts are produced in Manisa OSB. More than 70% of sales are exports. Work follows the customer drawing and tolerance. The Manisa OSB plant on Ahmet Nazif Zorlu Boulevard has run this work since November 2013.
