Crossbelt Sorter System

A cross-belt sorter is a conveyor-based system that automatically separates goods by set criteria on high-speed, high-accuracy lines. It sorts items that are hard to classify at speed, including books, CDs/DVDs, small products, jewellery and cosmetics, small boxes and pouched goods. Typical applications are logistics, e-commerce, retail, postal/cargo and production sortation.

PVC and PU Belts

PVC and PU (polyurethane) belts are used in industrial plants and storage areas. PVC belts are chosen for mechanical load, chemical and heat resistance at lower cost; PU belts are preferred for high flexibility and tensile strength in transport and packaging. Both types are available in various sizes, thicknesses, colours and patterns and can be specified for a given application.

PTFE Teflon Belt

Teflon belt is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which increases surface resistance to temperature, oil, water and other substances. It is used on high-temperature electrical equipment and industrial machines, is waterproof and chemically resistant. It is made in various colours and sizes and can be cut and bonded to the required length.

Belt Conveyor

Belt conveyors are widely used for bulk materials in mining, cement, iron and steel, ports and similar plants because they are economical, efficient and easy to maintain and control. They also carry unit loads. Capacities range from low rates up to 10,000 m³/h continuous transport, and they suit process controls such as dosing, weighing and metal separation. Screw conveyors are widely used in cement, glass, chemicals, gypsum, lime, concrete, grain, recycling and food. Helices move powder and granules; U-trough and tubular designs are available by material type. U-types suit horizontal and slight incline (10°–20°); tubular units can be horizontal to vertical (0°–90°). Drives may be motor-gearbox or vibro-motor. Custom designs include wear plates (HB400–500, Tivar), S235JR/S355JR/stainless options, single to triple helix flights and speeds up to 600 rpm.

Bucket Elevator

Bucket elevators vertically convey powder, granular and lump materials such as cement, sand, soil, coal, soda, grain and flour. Compact footprint, high lift and a wide capacity range are key advantages. Feeding is from the boot or via a chute depending on material; belt or chain types, single/double casing and deep, shallow or V buckets are available. Massmak builds chain and belt elevators with bucket widths of 125–1000 mm in various speeds and capacities; casings and buckets use wear-resistant materials such as steel, stainless steel or Hardox.

Ağaçlı flat-bottom grain storage silos are produced to order with diameters from Ø4.57 m to Ø32 m and capacities from 113 m³ to 25,159 m³. As standard, not optional, 600 g/m² galvanized steel sheet is used for corrosion resistance. Designs take stored-product density, wind load and snow load into account. Body sheets and stiffener legs are designed to distribute silo loads evenly. Grade 10.9 Geomet 500 A bolts are used at connections; strip mastic seals the body-sheet joints.

Hopper Bottom Silo

General Storage Systems

Ağaçlı hopper-bottom grain silos are used in high-capacity storage and in plants with frequent filling and discharge. Product is transferred from the cone to discharge conveyors without extra equipment; because discharge is above ground, an under-floor tunnel is not required. Diameters range from Ø4.57 m to Ø10.96 m and capacities from 99 m³ to 1,772 m³. Hopper angles of 40°, 45° and 60° are produced according to product flow. Standard production uses 600 g/m² galvanized steel sheet and grade 10.9 Geomet 500 A bolts.

Feed Silo

General Storage Systems

Feed silos are designed for farms and feed mills, with economical construction, straightforward assembly and easy maintenance. They are produced to order with diameters from Ø1.83 m to Ø3.65 m and capacities from 4 m³ to 110 m³. Hopper angles of 45°, 60° and 67° are offered according to feed flow; 45° hoppers have a 30° roof, while 60° and 67° hoppers have a 40° roof. As standard, 600 g/m² galvanized steel sheet and grade 10.9 Geomet 500 A bolts are used.

Conveyor Belt Measurement

Conveyor belts are cut and joined to the line, so a wrong size cannot be returned. Huzur Bant specifies collecting belt width, length (splice-to-splice or centre-distance formula), pulley diameters, thickness and ply count, splice type, surface/profile/guide and operating conditions in millimetres. If measurements are uncertain, line photos and existing figures can be sent so missing items are completed together.

Conveyor Belt Splicing

The splice is the weakest point of a conveyor belt. Three methods are used: hot vulcanising, cold splicing and mechanical clips. Vulcanising is preferred on food and heavy-load lines for a flat, strong joint; cold splice is used where a press cannot be taken to site; mechanical clips finish in minutes for emergency repair. The choice depends on hygiene, downtime, load and site conditions.

Grain Conveying Systems

The conveying range covers bucket elevators, chain conveyors, belt conveyors and screws. Bucket elevators lift grain vertically at 32–910 m³/s; a 300 g/m² galvanized bolted steel body, HDPE buckets and belt-slip safety are standard. Flat chain conveyors move grain horizontally at 0° in the 32–910 m³/s range; inclined types work up to 5°, and steep inclined types from 15° to 60°. Discharge screws empty flat-bottom silos through centre and intermediate gates. Bodies are bolt-and-nut assembled.

Ağaçlı Silo installs the grain storage systems it manufactures at its 100,000 m² Aksaray plant. Reference projects include the Impaz silo plant in Tekirdağ, a 30,000-ton plant for Soyyiğitler in Edirne, a 15,000-ton plant for Beydere Un in Konya Karapınar, and a 110,000-ton storage plant for Mis Un in Amasya. In Konya, AKF Tarım (20,000 tons), Güzel Un (8,000 tons), Censa Tarım and Emin Gül Tarım (22,000 tons) plants were completed in the same scope. Plants combine silos with conveying and aeration equipment.
