Operating frequencies are 20, 30, 35 and 40 kHz; amplitude 10–50 μm; geometry is flat, slotted, notched or custom and FEM-optimised. On 5-axis CNC, horns are resonance-tested and dynamically balanced to minimise vibration losses. Micro-texturing (Rz 3–5 μm) can increase frictional grip.
