Sulfuric acid generated in production processes is converted into fertilizer. The plant is at Sanayi Mah. Selyeri Mevkii, Tekkeköy/Samsun. The acid is an integrated intermediate from smelter gas; external sales should be confirmed separately.

A hemihydrate reaction and dihydrate filtration technology, named the Nissan H Process, is used in the BAGFAS phosphoric acid plant. Production capacity is 440 tons per day and 150,000 tons per year. Gypsum, used as a chemical cleaning agent and soil conditioner, is the by-product. Phosphoric acid is used in textile, food, agriculture, metal surface cleaning, industrial cleaning, leather, cosmetics, detergents, construction chemicals and soft-drink acidification. Production is at the Erdek/Balıkesir integrated plant.

The BAGFAS sulphuric acid plant is Turkey’s only sulphur-based processing facility and produces sulphuric acid using the double absorption contact process. The single production line has the capacity to produce 1650 tons per day and 550,000 tons per year; the plant holds a Lurgi/BASF licence. Used in leather, construction, food, metal and energy industries, sulphuric acid is a lynchpin of industrial chemistry and has vital importance in fertilizer production, oil refining, wastewater treatment and chemical synthesis. Production is at the Bandırma–Erdek 10 km plant in Erdek/Balıkesir.
