Operating the only smelter in Türkiye that can produce from ore to the end product, our company accounts for 20% of the domestic market with 70,000 tons of annual cathode copper production capacity. We produce copper, cobalt, nickel, phosphate, antimony and fertilizer at 8 plants in Türkiye, and gold at 1 plant in Kyrgyzstan.
We engage in extensive R&D studies with the aim of producing the raw materials needed for modern life at best quality and highest efficiency. Focusing on sustainability and advanced technology in the exploration of natural resources and improvement of existing processes, our company has turned its R&D Center into a hub of the mining industry, conducting research in collaboration with Türkiye’s leading institutions and universities.
Samsun Smelter and Electrolysis Plant, the only plant in Türkiye that can produce from ore to the end product, produces cathode copper with 99.99% purity. With an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of cathode copper, the plant contributes $750 million every year to reducing the country’s current account deficit. In 2004, the plant was completely renovated after it started operating under the umbrella of Cengiz Holding, increasing its productivity every year thanks to R&D efforts.
The smelter plant performing anode casting, sulfuric acid, concentrator, electrolysis and fertilizer processes has a workforce of 918 people. The facility converts the sulfuric acid generated in production processes into fertilizer. The plant currently has an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of ammonium sulfate fertilizer, and when the ongoing fertilizer plant investment is completed, Eti Bakır’s total fertilizer production capacity will increase to 1,500,000 tons per year.
We support the agricultural sector with Eti Gübre, the only fertilizer brand in Türkiye that uses 100% domestic raw materials. In addition to being the first ammonium sulfate producer in Türkiye to receive CE certification, our Quality Control Laboratory in Mazıdağı is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK).

Ammonium Sulfate Fertilizer
At the Samsun plant, sulfuric acid generated in production processes is converted into fertilizer. Current ammonium sulfate fertilizer capacity is 600,000 tons per year. Eti Gübre is the only fertilizer brand in Türkiye that uses 100% domestic raw materials and the first ammonium sulfate producer in Türkiye to receive CE certification. Production is on the Tekkeköy/Samsun smelter campus.
Cathode Copper 99.99%
Samsun Smelter and Electrolysis Plant, the only plant in Türkiye that can produce from ore to the end product, produces cathode copper with 99.99% purity. Annual cathode copper capacity of 70,000 tons accounts for 20% of the domestic market. The plant was renovated after 2004 under Cengiz Holding. Address: Sanayi Mah. Selyeri Mevkii, Tekkeköy/Samsun.
Sulfuric Acid
The Samsun Smelter and Electrolysis Plant performs anode casting, sulfuric acid, concentrator, electrolysis and fertilizer processes. Sulfuric acid generated in production processes is converted into fertilizer. The plant is at Sanayi Mah. Selyeri Mevkii, Tekkeköy/Samsun. The acid is an integrated intermediate from smelter gas; external sales should be confirmed separately.

Copper Smelting
Samsun Smelter and Electrolysis Plant is Türkiye’s only factory that can produce from ore to the end product. Electrolysis (Cathode Production)
The electrolysis line produces cathode copper of 99.99% purity. Annual capacity is 70,000 tons and covers 20% of the domestic market. The plant employs 918 people. Electrolysis is at Sanayi Mah. Selyeri Mevkii, Tekkeköy/Samsun.
Sulfuric Acid Production (Smelter Gas)
Sulfuric acid generated in the smelting process is produced at the plant and converted into fertilizer. The acid unit shares the Samsun campus with anode casting, concentrator and electrolysis. The fertilizer line is tied to 600,000 tons/year ammonium sulfate capacity. Location is Tekkeköy/Samsun.
