Meltblown
Fersan produces high-filtration meltblown. In the melt-blown process, filaments are attenuated at the die tip with large volumes of high-temperature air while the polymer is still molten, which favours microfibre formation for filtration webs. Disposable uses cited include hygiene, wet wipes, medical/surgical and air filtration; durable uses include interlining, upholstery, bedding, footwear, coating/lamination, floor coverings, geotextiles, automotive and agriculture. Together with spunbond it also enters SMS dust-bag constructions.
Spunbond Nonwoven
The plant produces 100% polypropylene (PP), 100% recyclable spunbond. All weights from 10 g/m2 to 120 g/m2, all colours, slitting to requested widths and winding to requested roll lengths are offered. Cross and machine-direction tensile tests are run in-house; cameras monitor every square metre during production. Additives can confer hydrophilic, UV-resistant, flame-retardant/heat-resistant, antistatic, soft, antibacterial and coloured fabric properties.
Ultrasonic Quilted Nonwoven
Three ultrasonic quilting machines developed by the in-house R&D team serve both the plant’s own needs and customer orders. The quilted fabrics are used first of all in dust bags and also in other sectors. The mill slits to requested sizes, produces all colours and winds to requested roll lengths. Diamond, dot and flower patterns are available.

Nonwoven Slitting and Winding
Spunbond and ultrasonic quilted fabrics are slit to requested widths and wound to requested roll lengths. Rolls in the 10–120 g/m2 range are cut to customer measure; any colour can be combined with a custom roll length. This converting step is part of the Torbalı nonwoven line and supplies fabric ready for dust bags and other technical-textile uses.
Custom Nonwoven Manufacturing
At the 5,000 m2 Torbalı OSB plant, 100% polypropylene SS spunbond is produced to requested weight (10–120 g/m2), colour, width and roll length. Additives can be used for hydrophilic, UV-resistant, flame-retardant/heat-resistant, antistatic, soft or antibacterial fabrics. Cross and machine-direction tensile testing and in-line camera inspection are done on site. Meltblown and ultrasonic quilting belong to the same nonwoven operation.
Technical Textile R&D
All three ultrasonic quilting machines were developed by the in-house R&D team, which also designs vacuum-cleaner dust bags. On the spunbond line, additives confer hydrophilic, UV, flame-retardant, antistatic, soft and antibacterial properties. Tensile testing and in-line cameras monitor quality. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 covers spunbond produced at the Torbalı branch.
