Chopped glass fibre used in 6-10-12-24 mm lengths in composites, concrete, precast and ready-mix plaster. Used as reinforcement and filler to increase mechanical strength and heat resistance; it is the most widely used polyester reinforcement. Synthetic crane ropes as an alternative to steel wire rope. The Kordspecguard series has a protective jacket over the fibres against abrasion; the Kordspec series is unjacketed, and both offer the same strength as a steel rope of the same diameter while being lighter. The HMPE series can be produced jacketed or unjacketed and is 8 times lighter than a comparable steel rope.

Coloured lines combine carbon fibre with fine copper wires in twill (e.g. SPN C 285 T, 285 g/m², 3K, widths 100/127 cm in yellow, grey, red, blue, pink, green, lilac and gold). All kit designs are evaluated by METYX engineers supported with CAD data. 5-axis NC processing centres machine balsa wood and PU, PET, SAN and PVC foam cores; CNC fabric cutting machines handle multiaxial, RTM and woven fabrics up to 100 inches wide. Braided Polyester Rope

Braided rope made of polyester in diameters from 4 mm to 30 mm, weighing 14 g/m at 4 mm, 90 g/m at 10 mm and 260 g/m at 18 mm. It offers very good UV and abrasion resistance, a melting point of 250 °C, 15-20% elongation at break and 0.5% water absorption (sinking rope), conforming to ISO 1141. Used for high-strength pulling applications, ship, marina and port operations and industrial lifting and crane systems. 6, 8 and 10 mm elastic rope options are also available.

Lamination (Coating and Hotmelt)

In coating lamination, plastic raw materials are melted under pressure and heat and flowed onto the fabric surface without adhesive; in hotmelt lamination, two separate materials such as film, spunbond, spunlace, metallised film and towelling are bonded with hot glue. The process adds liquid and air impermeability, toughness and strength. Used for surgical gowns, masks, sterile materials, automotive textiles and insulation materials.
