REFSAN was founded in 1981 by two young chemical engineers who adopted as their principles producing what could not be produced in Turkey, quality and customer satisfaction. While producing all types of monolithic refractories until 1991, the company then developed its staff and technology, entered the construction sector and began producing GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement) precast products. In 1997 it was institutionalised under the name Refsan Refrakter İnşaat ve İnşaat Malzemeleri Limited Şirketi, and in 2003 it obtained the ISO 9001 Quality Management System certificate. Under the Refsan Prekast brand it produces thermally insulated R-LITE® panels, Single Skin facade cladding panels, decorative GFRC elements and NANOFLEXBETON®, developing new products and technologies in its R&D laboratory. Its factory is in Hadımköy, Istanbul.
