An extrusion-head blow moulding machine is a type of plastic blow moulding machine used in the production of small-scale plastic products. It is generally used in serial production and moulding of small plastic bottles. The extrusion-head blow moulder melts granule plastic under high temperature and pressure and places it in the moulding head. Molten plastic fills the mould and the mould closes so it takes shape. Pressurised air in the mould lets the melt take the exact mould shape. The product is then left to cool; the cooled mould opens and the product is taken out.
