KOMACAR Magnesia-Carbon Bricks (MgO-C)
Resin-bonded magnesia-carbon bricks combining high-purity sintered magnesia with graphite for outstanding slag resistance and thermal-shock performance. Typical composition 5–15% carbon and 96–98% MgO; KOMACAR 5 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 15 grades in GR2, GRD5, GRD10, GRE5, GRE10 and GRDE5 variants. Used in electric arc furnace (EAF) walls and hot spots, BOF converters, steel ladle slag line and metal zone.
KONCAST / KONLOWCAST Refractory Castables
Conventional dense alumina casting refractories (KONCAST 50–85, 50–85% Al₂O₃, service to 1750°C) and low-cement, SiC-bearing vibration castables (KONLOWCAST 55A–97H, 30–90% Al₂O₃, up to 60% SiC). The MgO monolithic line runs at 150 t/day and the alumina line at 80 t/day. Used for kiln hoods, transfer chutes, pre-cast blocks, cement calciners and high-abrasion zones.
KONSP Magnesia-Spinel and Magnesia-Chrome Bricks
Chrome-free fired magnesia-spinel bricks based on seawater magnesia, fused magnesia and spinel (KONSP 82–92 Z1, typically 85–92% MgO) for the burning and transition zones of cement rotary kilns. Direct-bonded and fused-grain magnesia-chrome / chrome-magnesia P-series bricks (22–86% MgO, 5–37% Cr₂O₃) serve non-ferrous smelting, glass regenerators, cement kilns and RH/AOD degassers.
Services
R&D Co-Development and Maintenance Planning
For customers with unique or evolving furnace conditions, our R&D team formulates a custom grade from real site feedback and tests it in our laboratory before production. To extend campaigns and reduce unplanned downtime we offer campaign-life modelling, hot-repair specification and maintenance lining products such as gunning mixes and repair castables.
Refractory Wear and Failure Analysis
Post-campaign examination of worn bricks identifies the failure mode (spalling, chemical penetration, erosion, mechanical damage) and feeds adjustments into the next lining specification. When a lining fails unexpectedly, product, installation, operating conditions or process changes are investigated through a clear root-cause analysis rather than guesswork.
Refractory Technical Specification and Site Supervision
We analyse furnace type, heat profile, slag chemistry and wear history, then recommend a zone-by-zone lining specification from our range or develop a custom grade when needed. Our engineers attend lining installations to verify correct brick placement, joint sizes, anchor design and curing procedures; site support is available across more than 40 export markets.
