Hycast® Refractory Castables
Castables are dry, granular refractory mixes that are mixed with water on site and poured using formwork; they are well suited to producing shaped pieces. The Hycast® range (VE, GP, DE, DALI, 45, 50, 60 etc.) is used as the main material for furnace linings, burner surrounds, ladles, baffles, doors, arches, covers and chimneys in iron-steel, foundries, refineries, petrochemicals, power plants and the cement industry.
Hylow® Low Cement Castables
Low cement refractory castables applied by vibration, offering high strength against high temperature, abrasion and impact; precise particle size distribution and reduced cement content are the critical factors. The Hylow® range spans 50% Al₂O₃ to high-alumina, andalusite-based and aluminium non-wetting (85 ALF) grades, used in foundries, iron-steel, cement, aluminium and petrochemical industries.
Hyplas® Plastic Refractories
Ready-to-use plastic refractories applied by ramming or compaction; after drying they set into a solid phase by heat or chemical binders. The Hyplas® range covers 45–80% Al₂O₃ grades in ceramic-bonded (heat-setting) and phosphate-bonded (air-setting) types. They are used as the main lining and repair material in furnaces, burner zones and ladles in the iron-steel, aluminium, foundry and ceramic industries.
Services
Analysis of the Existing Refractory System
Increasingly demanding production and changing operating conditions cause serious energy losses and structural damage in outdated refractory designs. Kiltaş offers, free of charge, a review of existing refractory and insulation systems, assessment of the effects of the fuel type on the refractories, and selection of the most suitable refractory and insulation materials for the operating conditions.
Refractory Design and Application Services
Kiltaş provides complete engineering and project services, from heat loss calculations and anchoring systems to material selection and full system design. Since every refractory with different chemical and technical properties can cause major problems if applied incorrectly, qualified specialist teams carefully apply the correct application method for each product group.
Refractory Heat Curing (Dry-out) Support
A correctly designed heat curing programme is vital for refractories to reach full performance, mechanical strength and long service life. Plastics, castables and insulating castables require different heating curves; heating rates and holding times depend on material thickness and geometry, burner sizes and vent locations. The Kiltaş team provides project-specific heat curing programmes and application support.
