A NEW VISION IN TURKEY'S STEEL PRODUCTION
The KILIÇLAR group, which has served Turkey's steel sector for about 45 years in metallic recycling and later in marketing of ribbed structural steel, completed the missing link of its vertical-integration vision by bringing the Bilecik Demir Çelik plant into the group as of March 2014.
Bilecik Demir Çelik is a steel production facility with high metallic efficiency through its technological infrastructure and process strategy. While producing ribbed structural steel — a key input for the regional construction sector — to national and international standards, BDÇ converts metal waste into value on the basis of recycling, minimum waste and sustainable industrial production.
For the sustainability of customer satisfaction, environment and occupational health management, Bilecik Demir Çelik aims at continuous improvement by eliminating nonconformity at source at every process step, with strong equipment and competent personnel, and with technology and quality investments.

Steel Billet
The melt shop at Bozüyük OSB produces liquid steel from metallic scrap recycling and feeds billets to the rolling mill. The English corporate page states the plant was established for production and sale of steel billets and ribbed construction steel, with 192,856 m² outdoor area and 15,560 m² steel-plant indoor area.
Steel Slag Aggregate
BDÇ offers steelmaking slag as TSE-approved alternative aggregate for concrete and bitumen applications. Metal waste is converted into value under a zero-waste and circular-economy approach; conformity documents are published on the company site.

Steel Quality Test Laboratory
In-house laboratory to verify TS 708 mechanical properties (yield, tensile, elongation, bend). ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environment, ISO 45001 OHS and ISO 50001 energy systems are supported by certificates published on the site.
Scrap-Based Steelmaking
Liquid steel from scrap under a metallic-recycling vision. Vertical integration was completed when the Kılıçlar group acquired the plant in 2014. The process is designed for high metallic yield and minimum waste.
Rebar Rolling
Rolling of 8–32 mm ribbed structural steel to TS 708 on the mill brought into operation at the plant. The English site cites 300,000 tonnes/year of ribbed structural steel and positions BDÇ as the only steel production centre in Bilecik and neighbouring provinces.
