R&D (Galenic and Analytical)

The R&D laboratory has two main units: galenic and analytical. Patent screening, API evaluation, formulation and analytical-method development, process and analytical-method validation, product improvement, new-product stability and CTD dossier preparation are run under QbD (Quality by Design). Vefa İlaç aims to develop innovative products, high-success bioequivalence studies and common CTD files for Turkey and other countries; the R&D lab also runs joint TUBITAK projects.

Pharmaceutical and Food-Supplement Manufacturing

The Vefa İlaç plant stands on 8,000 m² in total, of which 6,000 m² is indoor. Published annual capacities are 1,425,000,000 solid units (tablets, film-coated tablets, capsules, softgels), 48,000,000 syrups and 15,000,000 creams, ointments and gels. In the soft-gel centre, gelatins run in a closed system and the fill is encapsulated without hand contact. The site holds a WHO GMP (pharmaceutical) certificate.

Medical cooler manufacturing runs under Coolermed in ISO 13485 plants. Forty R&D engineers and a €6 million investment are cited. Units are used in more than 30 countries. Production follows the healthcare cold-chain specification.
