General SealsAn O-ring is an elastomer loop with a round (O-shaped) cross-section used as a mechanical seal; it sits in a groove and is compressed between two parts during assembly to create a seal. It is used in static applications and in moving joints such as pump shafts and hydraulic cylinders. Since 2013 Ege Conta has produced O-rings with special O-ring presses, a nitrogen deburring machine and a quality control machine; standard, kit and cord O-ring sizes are offered.
