Sedef Shipbuilding Inc. was founded in Gebze in 1972 and moved to the Tuzla Shipyards Region in 1990. It has operated under Turkon Holding (Kalkavan family) since 2000. The site cites 2,000+ employees, 100,000 t/year steel throughput, 194,000 m² in Tuzla and 36,000 m² in Orhanlı.
