Booster vacuum pumps are used as a secondary vacuum pump. Use on their own is not correct. They come into service when the first main pump has reached a certain pressure, to advance faster to high vacuum values. Dry screw vacuum pumps reach high vacuum levels on the order of 10−2 mbar. There are four 100% Italian-made models: Sat.150, Sat.350, Sat.450 and Sat.800. GP-GP/M+Booster packages are published at 5×10−2 mbar / 1×10−2 mbar absolute.

ADUVAC Vacuum Engineering is the contracted authorized Turkey distributor of the Italian GEV brand. Single-stage oil vacuum pumps are offered with GEV. In today’s technologies 0.1 mbar absolute vacuum is obtained with single-stage oil pumps, while two-stage oil pumps can reach 0.001 mbar. The GP-GP/M series runs from 11–13 m3/h (0.55 kW) to 300–360 m3/h (7.5 kW); e.g. GP-GP/M 11 final vacuum 10 mbar–1 mbar / 0.55 kW IE2-3; GP-GP/M 160 160–192 m3/h, 5 mbar–0.1 mbar / 4 kW; GP-GP/M 308 300–360 m3/h, 10 mbar–0.5 mbar / 7.5 kW.

GEV GS and GPR Dry Vacuum Pumps

Dry vacuum pumps are ideal for low-pressure applications. GS-series dry carbon-vane pumps GS3, GS6, GS10, GS16, GS25, GS40 and GS100 can run continuously at 150 mbar absolute. Maximum final vacuum of the GS dry series is 100 mbar; the ideal continuous working pressure is 150 mbar. GPR-series dry claw pumps GPR150 and GPR300 can obtain 70 mbar continuously in absolute vacuum. Ex-proof pumps suitable for Zone 1-2 and Zone 20-21-22 are also published on the ATEX oil lines.

Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump

Vakem liquid-ring vacuum pumps are offered as single- and two-stage. The page lists high flow with lower energy, stainless stage plates, no internal lubrication and no metallic contact. They can take all kinds of gas and vapour and a small amount of liquid with the gas. Compression is almost isothermal. They are published in the same category as the oil and dry lines.

Vakem oil-circulation vacuum pumps are CNC-made. Capacities 105, 175, 250 and 305 m³/h are published. 250 and 305 m³/h models have radiator and coil cooling; 100 and 150–175 m³/h have coil cooling. High-temperature vanes, a glass oil sight and anti-vibration feet are listed. Uses: hospital vacuum stations, furniture membrane presses and CNC routers, forming, food packing, lifting, laboratories and chemical condensation.

Vakem’s dry vacuum pump runs oil-free and contact-free; no oil is needed for sealing. A published example: 250 m³/h, 200 mbar, 380 V AC, 7.5 kW, 1000 rpm, 77–79 dB, 1250×640×560 mm, 260 kg. The product text states it can run long periods without periodic maintenance and that energy use is economical.

EVYP oil-lubricated vacuum pumps use an eccentric rotor in a stator. Gas is taken from the top, compressed in vane chambers and separated from oil in a tank; oil returns through a filter. They are coupling-driven, air-cooled, on rubber mounts, with a check valve. Uses: vacuum packing, handling, medical vacuum, tunnelling, wood forming, electronics, food and plastic thermoforming.
