Bilkent Holding was founded in 1968 by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı to operate in the construction sector. TEPE BETOPAN YAPI MALZEMELERİ SAN. TİC. A.Ş., operating under Bilkent Holding, established Turkey's first cement-bonded particleboard factory in Bilkent, Ankara in 1984, starting production under the registered brand betopan® and achieving its first export in 1987. In 1999, the factory was revised using modern technology systems, doubling its capacity. In 2001, as a result of ongoing R&D efforts, the company added betopanplus®, yalıpan®, and taşonit®, all of which have patented A2 fire resistance classification, to its product range. In 2014, with an investment in the Ankara ASO 2nd Organized Industrial Zone, the company began production of next-generation fiber-reinforced cement boards under the tepePAN® brand at its LEED Gold certified factory. In 2019 it began producing Turkey's first ready-to-use, paint-free, water-repellent, self-colored fiber-reinforced cement boards under the Tepe Unique® and Tepe Unique Pro® brands. A Turquality program member with 300 employees (225 blue-collar) working three shifts, the company regularly exports to more than 50 countries on 5 continents and is among the few producers worldwide that manufacture both cement-bonded particle boards and fiber-reinforced cement boards.
